Problem: Error after logging into ProjectLink and clicking Open from Primavera, before projects are downloaded: “Could not log into Primavera.  ProjectLink cannot connect to the server.  This problem may be caused by incorrect Primavera Options, or you may have a previous version of ProjectLink installed.  Verify your Primavera Options, and if necessary, upgrade ProjectLink.”
Problem: Error after logging into ProjectLink and entering filter parameters into the “Open from Primavera” dialog box, and clicking Search
Problem:
Problem: ProjectLink worked last week for both Development and Production, now Production will not connect.
Fix:

NOTE: The first seven steps apply if only one user or a few users are experiencing the issue.

  1. Check the server and port settings by clicking the Primavera Options button on the toolbar:

  2. In Primavera Options, the server host should be the host that you downloaded ProjectLink from.  If it is set correctly, try pinging the server from the client machine to check connectivity.

  3. If you can ping the server, make sure the port is correct.  80 is the default.  Make sure that “Use SSL” is checked if the application server is configured to use SSL.

  4. Try uninstalling ProjectLink from the Control Panel – Add/Remove Programs, and then reinstalling ProjectLink from the host server.

  5. Determine the last time ProjectLink worked.  See if anything has been added or changed (Eg:  New Release, Patch, Firewall)

  6. Is the IE Proxy Server setting “Use a Proxy server for your Lan” marked?
    To Verify:

  • Open a browser window

  • Go to Tools, Internet Options

  • Select the Connections tab

  • Click on Lan Settings

  • In the Proxy Server section, is there a check mark on “Use a Proxy server for your Lan”?
    If it is checked:

    • Go to Primavera Options

    • Open the Web Proxy tab

  • Make sure there is a check mark in the box for “Use Proxy Server”

  • Check the Application and System event viewer logs for connectivity issues.

NOTE: Steps 8 and 9 only apply if all users are experiencing the same problem.

  • Check the Deployment status of  “ProjectIntegrationServices” in BEA
    To check:

    • Open a browser window

    • Go to BEA console:  http://<servername>:7001/console

    •  Go to Deployment ,  Applications ,  ProjectIntegrationServices

    • Verify the deployment status is set to “Available” under
“Deployment status for EJB Modules” and “Deployment status for Web Application Modules”

    • If the Deployment Status is NOT set to “Available”, Please contact Primavera Support.

  • Verify that BEA is working properly

    • In MSP click on  Primavera Options

    • On the Web Service tab change the Server Port setting from 80 to 7001

    • Click Save

    • Click on Open from Primavera

      • If ProjectLink opens with a list of Projects then BEA is working properly

      • If ProjectLink still returns the error message “Could not log into Primavera” please contact Primavera Support.
